Celebrating David’s 60th: A Journey Through Austria & Germany
Our birthday adventure began with a week exploring Munich, Salzburg, and Vienna—joined by our nephew William for his special “trip with the uncles,” a tradition we treasure with each niece and nephew. In the second week, Mike and I continued on to Innsbruck, soaking in the alpine charm before circling back to Munich to wrap it all up in festive style at Oktoberfest

Jenna and Blakes Trip to NYC
Big Apple Bonding
Each year, we take one of our nieces or nephews on a special adventure with the uncles—and this time, it was Jenna’s turn. Joined by her boyfriend (and future husband) Blake, we dove headfirst into a three-day whirlwind of New York City greatness. From iconic sights to hidden gems, the city buzzed with energy, laughter, and unforgettable moments. It was a perfect blend of family tradition and new beginnings.

October NYC
Sondheim in Stereo
In true theater-lover fashion, we packed two Sondheim musicals into one unforgettable day in New York City. Driving up from Greenbelt that morning, we kicked things off with Here We Are—Sondheim’s final, unfinished work—at The Shed in Hudson Yards. That evening, we were swept up in the Tony Award–winning revival of Merrily We Roll Along at the historic Hudson Theatre. But the curtain didn’t drop on our night just yet—we bar-hopped our way up and down 8th Avenue, soaking in the city’s late-night pulse until the wee hours. A marathon of music, memories, and Manhattan magic.

Branching Out
This New Hampshire adventure gave us the best of both worlds—new discoveries and beloved traditions. We explored fresh territory in North Conway and Moultonborough, soaking in the charm of these scenic towns. At the same time, we returned to David’s favorite spots: the refreshing cascade of Beede Falls, the thrill of Diving Rock at Rattlesnake Cove, and the rewarding climb up Mt. Israel. Each stop added another layer to our growing tapestry of memories in the Granite State.
Reese's Trip to NYC
NYC with Our Neice: An Unforgettable Adventure
Each year, we take one of our nieces or nephews on a special adventure with the uncles—and this time, New York City was the destination! Not many 16-year-olds can say they spent a week in the Big Apple with a private e-bike tour, a thrilling Hudson River helicopter ride, a full day at Coney Island, five incredible shows, and so much more. A trip packed with memories we’ll all treasure.
Portugal
Portugal for Mike’s 60th
To celebrate Mike’s 60th birthday, we spent a fabulous week soaking up the beauty and culture of Portugal. Our adventure began with four days in Lisbon, complete with side trips to the fairytale palaces of Sintra and the coastal charm of Cascais. But the true highlight? The incredible people we met along the way.
Our stay at The Late Bird Lisbon set the tone—an oasis where it felt like we had a personal staff anticipating our every need. After days spent exploring the city, we’d unwind with drinks by the pool, swapping stories and laughter with new friends. One unforgettable evening, a staff member invited guests aboard his 1939 sailboat for a sunset cruise up the river—pure magic.
We wrapped up the trip with three days in Porto, where the food was divine and the street performers were the best we’ve ever seen. Just be prepared to hear “The Girl from Ipanema” more times than you can count—it’s the unofficial soundtrack of the city!
Would you like to include a photo caption or a quote from Mike to personalize it even more?
London
A London Twist on Tradition
Instead of our usual long weekend in NYC catching a few shows, we crossed the pond to London—because Mike just had to see Derren Brown for the third time! It turned out to be a fantastic trip, filled with theater, charm, and a delightful first for both of us: experiencing a proper High Tea.

Jackson's Trip to Chicago
Each year, we take one of our nieces or nephews on a special adventure with the uncles—and this time, Chicago was the destination! From soaring above the skyline on a private helicopter tour to taking in the views from the Sears Tower observation deck, biking along the scenic Michigan shoreline, and so much more, it was a trip packed with unforgettable moments and big city magic.
Christmas Trip to Michigan
Every year brings its own special moments, but tradition reigns supreme during Frauenheim Christmas week. Aside from growing kids and evolving waistlines, the joy, laughter, and cozy chaos remain beautifully consistent—so much so that it’s hard to tell one magical Christmas album from the next. That’s why we’re sharing just one cherished collection to capture the spirit of them all.

Anna and Easton Trip to NYC
A Long-Overdue Adventure with Anna and Easton
Four years after taking their older siblings to Washington, D.C., it was finally Anna and Easton’s turn for a special getaway. We crafted a memorable trip to New York City, filled with iconic sights and unforgettable experiences. From soaring views at The Edge in Hudson Yards to a scenic bike ride along the Hudson River, every moment was designed to delight. The highlight? A night on Broadway, where we shared laughter and music at a performance of Waitress. A long-awaited journey, made all the sweeter by the joy of discovery through their eyes.

David's 50th
David’s 50th birthday getaway took an unexpected turn when a business trip led us to North Carolina. Mike made the most of it by planning a memorable dinner at the elegant Second Empire Restaurant and Tavern. We spent three vibrant days soaking in Raleigh’s arts and music scene before heading out to the serene beauty of the Outer Banks. Unfortunately, we have very few photos from this adventure—but the memories are vivid.

Our Wedding
Our wedding was more than a day—it was a weeklong celebration filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Family arrived throughout the week, joining us for memorable outings to Salem’s historic witch trial sites, Doyle’s Tavern, Quincy Market and much more. The festivities culminated in a private three-hour trolley tour through the streets and sights of Boston. We got engaged in September 2011 on our 10th anniversary and tied the knot the following May in Boston, surrounded by our immediate family.
